Religious heritage

Segorbe has a great ecclesiastical legacy thanks to the fact that it was once chosen to be the Episcopal see.

The city has the Cathedral Basilica, churches and hermitages. It also had several convents and monasteries that do not exist today.

Segorbe gained such importance that the diocese of Segorbe-Castellón of the Catholic Church was created by decree of the Sacred Consistorial Congregation in 1960, in accordance with the Concordat between the Holy See and Spain from a readjustment of boundaries between the dioceses of Valencia. -Segorbe-Tortosa.
