It is subdivided into two parts: the first is solid (9,90m high), and the second is open towards the inside of the city to avoid any use against the inhabitants. The tower has a cross vault and the upper floor can only be reached by an ashlar staircase that crosses transversally the space open on the wall. An irrigation ditch from the aqueduct crosses the inside of the tower, which is probably named after the nearby executioner\u2019s dwellings.\r\n\r\nThe construction features seem to date the tower around the 14<sup>th<\/sup> century.
