Since the 13th century, the Cathedral Crypt is a sacred place that holds a wake over the eternal rest of the most illustrious members of the Diocese of Segorbe: Deans, Canons, and members of the prestigious Valero family rest within the eternal walls of these rooms.
The visit to the Cathedral Crypt, located beneath the chapels of the cloister, guides us through the history and places of the Diocese of Segorbe-Castellón. It shows us the idealized reconstruction of an original crypt with its sepulchres and funerary chapel, allowing us to understand the perception medieval people had of death and to join the meditations of an old monk about the last great journey.
